3 Common Mistakes You Do While Working

Have you ever had a nagging crick in your neck? You know – that annoying pain that keeps you from looking left or right and reminds you that you’re not as fit as you once were?

In my line of work as a massage therapist in Fort Worth, I see lots of people with this exact problem. In fact, there are a few issues that so many of my clients have in common.

Don’t worry – They are easy to fix!

1. The Tech Neck.
More than likely, you are reading this hunched over a handheld device. Or, you’re sitting at your workspace using poor posture. I know this because I’m sitting here trying to maintain proper posture as I write this!

2. The Cramped Back.
You don’t take the time to stretch at work. You’re too busy answering emails, writing reports, answering phone calls to be bothered by a silly thing like stretching your back or shoulders.

3. The Stiff Hip Flexors.
You sit down almost 13 hours a day! Did you realize that? And half of that is while working at a computer most likely. Even if you’re taking a mental break to watch crazy cat videos, you’re still sitting down. Most people get up from their desks to do one of the following: Get food or go to the restroom. Then it’s back to sitting. No wonder your hips are tight!

Want to know the easiest fix ever for these issues?

GET UP! People aren’t meant to sit all day and it can wreak havoc on your muscles to do so. The easiest solution is to set a timer at work and get up after 40 minutes or so and walk around. Go outside, do some stretches, and do some self-massage on your arms and wrists.

Not sure how to stretch in your office without pulling a hammie (or worse – looking foolish in front of your co-workers)?

I’ll teach you the exact ways to stretch at work so you can stay flexible and avoid chronic neck and back pain. Follow me on Facebook where I make videos of stretching routines that I do every day. Follow Me on Facebook!
