This can come from how you sit, how you sleep, or even how you carry stress. Yes, stress can absolutely pick a favorite side. - Pain that spreads into the top of the shoulders
This is where neck and shoulder tension team up and refuse to mind their own business. Your upper traps get involved, and suddenly it feels like you are carrying invisible shoulder pads made of bricks. This is extremely common with desk work and long hours at a computer. - Stiffness when turning your head
