Thirty Minute Massages – Are They Worth It?

I get a lot of desperate phone calls and messages from people who beg to be fit into my massage schedule for just 30 minutes.

And while I am sympathetic to their shoulder pain, I just don’t give 30-minute massages. It’s not because I’m a heartless Neanderthal, it’s because 30 minutes just isn’t enough time for me to help you the best way possible.

Let me explain why thirty-minute massages might not be what you’re looking for.

People come to see me for a lot of reasons, and I like combining the best of 2 massage worlds, really.

I want my client’s pain to be eased AND I want them to leave feeling less stressed and more relaxed.

This is just good science.  Being relaxed helps REDUCE stress hormones in your brain.  They also help relax your muscles. When your muscles are more relaxed, then I’m able to work more deeply on and around your specific area of pain.  You really want to have the best possible massage and time is a way to do that.

The typical client comes into me already feeling stressed.  It takes them a good 15 minutes on the table to get into a state of deeper relaxation.  So, I find it’s more beneficial to the client to book a longer massage. Trust me, you’ll feel a heck of a lot better when you’re done with the massage.

In my opinion, a 90-minute massage is the perfect amount of time.

Though, I understand that not everyone has the time or the funds for a 90-minute massage.  That’s why I created a 45-minute focus massage. You still receive a lot of bang for your buck and massage benefits when you opt for this option.

Are you needing focused work on just your back?  Or, just your upper body? Then a 45-minute massage might be great for you!
